Goal setting is something that I didn’t start doing until recently. With the coronavirus in full effect and me being home from work, I wanted to make sure that I was making the most out of my time.
While I was home from work I still wanted to be working on my business. I just didn’t know where to start. I entered a productivity wormhole on YouTube and this is what I found:
Setting goals is easy. Easier than you think. One of the BEST ways to make sure that you’re getting things done is to write lists. Write down EVERYTHING that you have to do. And I mean everything.
Write down that you need to brush your teeth. Write down that you need to take a shower. Write down that you need to pick up that bobby pin off of the counter. Any little thing that you can think to do, write it down.
This method, in turn, will allow you to physically see what you’re doing throughout the day. And it will also give you the satisfaction of ticking something off your list. No one feels nice when they think they didn’t do anything all day. This way, you can see EXACTLY what you did!
I keep a notepad on my bedside table. If I think of something I need to do, it goes on the list. When I’ve completed it, I get the rush of ticking it off of my list, and more motivation to start the next task.
Another thing to help you out is to set TINY goals. What are the chances that you’re going to tick off “Finish that SUPER HUGE project”? You’re not. But, if you break that “super huge project” into more mundane, manageable tasks, you’ll have it done in no time!! Instead of putting “Write 3 page essay”, you can put “Write 2 paragraphs on essay”. Much more easy, and has a more likely chance that it will get done. As long as you manage your time properly, tasks will be a breeze!
Okay, those are all the tips I have for today. Did this help you? Do you have any tips for goal setting? Leave them in the comments below!!
With love,
Sam
